NipPierce Wow, this is a REALLY bad movie!
Noutions Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
LesGrossmanFyourownFACE Slowest movie ever made. Won't classify as a slow burn because it never got lit. Stupid me made it even slower by rewinding points in the film to try to figure out what possible relevance/progression minutes of the film had contributed. Came up empty every time. Here's a great description in Wikipedia of the final ~10 minutes of the movie (and remember 'slow burn' movies which just about every other review mentions is a flaw really need to make use of those final scenes to make the film...relevant): "Josh calls Harmon in tears to tell him that Dena is dead. Harmon tells Josh to disappear and never contact him again. Josh destroys his phone, then drives to a camping supplies store, where he applies for a job." Awesome. And Night moves officially beats out The Greasy Strangler for making a film with no purpose whatsoever. Only difference between those two films is that at least The Greasy Strangler tries to waste your time with wtf comedic devices and uncomfortable visuals whereas Night moves just wastes your time. (Cheese license...dam has no benefits why? I mean I'm guessing the film wanted to send a pro environmental message out right? well putting in a line about why dams can be bad for environments would have been nice...have sex w a guy you just met and dislike and distrust...80s wild times guy...Oh and also what does the name of the film mean? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious but Im not seeing it. I mean its the same name of a '75 film that has absolutely no connection. Another name couldnt be created? Was it just that perfect of a title that you had to reuse another films name? What a disaster.
leethomas-11621 Perfect pacing, score, script, production, acting.
raoulvandehaar If you want to see a thriller, don't watch this movie. Longest 2 hours of my life. Taking 2 minutes for a shot that should last 10 seconds doesn't make it art. It makes it boring, as hell. You don't feel any sympathy for the characters. You only think please let them die and get this movie over with. But no, that wouldn't be pretentious enough I guess... I have read some positive reviews, are you guys sadist? You are fooling people into thinking this movie is in some way worth viewing. This is not a thriller. If it was a drama than okay you could give it some points, there are some people that like this kind of movie. But for a thriller, no. This is no thriller
Seth_Rogue_One The East (2013) was really good IMO, it too was about nature loving "terrorists", I use the term lightly cause their intention is not to cause terror but to help nature but at the end of the day it's not that far off from what they are.If you agree with this or not doesn't really matter, what matters is the quality of the movie. And where as 'The East' was a thrilling ride this one takes more a realistic approach, almost too realistic, cause this movie is really slow, plenty of scenes where people barely say anything. Now that doesn't necessarily make it a bad movie but the characters aren't really all that interesting, and you don't really get to know the characters much, not who they really are besides 'outlaws for the nature' and who they are in relationsship to each other. And it's hard to actually care for them cause, frankly, they are kind of dumb, not thinking through what they are actually doing before doing it, which is bizarre considering how much planning they go through.I could go into details but that would mean spoiling a big deal of the movie so I won't.Anyway, the movie visually looks fine, it has a decent cast but it simply didn't make me feel anything, except for a little annoyance in the second half.No I suggest you wath 'The East' instead, it might not be as realistic, but it's way more entertaining.
