Reviews

JinRoz For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
elizabethfranklin6 One word: Hilarious. A better one? Meaningful. This is not like most comedies I've seen… usually I hate comedies but Mountain Men was actually pretty good!! The script was not cheesy and the plot centering around a city boy that comes home to his country brother—and the two of them trying to work together—was unexpected in a great way. This film is a lot better than most on the big screens because of the connection between the brothers and the measures they take to survive together—that definitely makes it. Films with adult siblings are always deeper to me because of the underlying history between the kids, and this film is no exception. The concept of their deceased father communicating with them in the present, one newly pregnant girlfriend and another missing in action, and the intricacies of their relationship after so many years apart definitely brought some insight to me.
summermarie2493 After seeing Mountain Men I felt as though I was put up against the elements to fight for survival. The Director, Cameron Labine, did an amazing job of engrossing the viewer and bringing the film to life. The cinematography was breathtaking and the acting done by Chace Crawford and Tyler Labine was riveting. The way the Canadian Scenery was captured made me feel as though I was in the wilderness. As well due to both actors' performances, the estranged family dynamic was easy to follow and relate. Apart from the drama in the film, a comedic side was also prominent throughout. There was a nice balance of drama and comedy. It had me laughing but also on the edge of my seat. Tyler Labine, known for his comedic roles, adds comedy to the film but also does an amazing job of bringing out a dramatic side, which is not often seen. Overall the film was great and I recommend it to anyone seeking a drama with comedic relief that deals with family struggles and a story of survival.
M Booth Watched this on the plane ride back from Toronto. What a surprise! Unique plot, great acting and awesome scenery! Wasn't sure if it would keep me awake on the flight or not, but it sure did (which was a good thing!). Although the plane rated it as comedy/drama, I would have to disagree... drama all the way. Thank goodness for Canadian content! The two main actors did a great job. They remind me of two famous Hollywood actors, I'm sure you'll know who I mean... I mainly came to IMDb to see who the actors were and where it was filmed, but then decided that this film needed another review! I will be sure to watch more of the Canadian films when on my next flight. I encourage you to do the same.
Nat Campbell When watching a movie, I look for a couple of things that make the movie worth watching: Is it keeping my attention or boring me, Would I be willing to watch it again, just to name a few. Well, although the beginning didn't look promising, the movie actually turned out to be good. The actors were correctly picked for their parts and were very convincing. The brothers interacted well, and I eventually got that good feeling I was looking for. I felt very satisfied that the movie left no questions unanswered. I would watch it again as I feel their were some things that might have been missed first time around. I give it a solid 7 out of 10. Enjoy!
