AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Cleveronix A different way of telling a story
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
cricketbat Midnight in Paris is a romantic comedy for intellectuals. Humanities majors will probably get the biggest kick out of it - giving smug looks to each other as each author and artist appear on the screen, nodding knowingly at the obscure references and inside jokes. Me? I spent most of the time looking up each character on my phone. However, that being said, it is still enjoyable. The story is interesting and I like the message of the movie: don't idolize the past, enjoy the present.
khaldalrrr I love this movie ,, I can't describe this amazing movie I just can't Great job!!
khbarnabae Normally, I would love to give this title a 10 star, but because Owen Wilson only says "wow" once, I cannot. This film's plot is so interesting, going back in time to meet people like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Salvador Dali, Gertrude Stein, my personal favorite, Ernest Hemingway, and many more. I really didn't like Wilson's on-screen fiance or Paul, and was immensely pleased when he dropped them like real hot Hot Pockets. I still don't understand why Van Gogh's Starry Night is on the movie poster because he wasn't there, but it's fine, I guess. My AP Art History teacher, Mr. Grosso really, really liked this movie, he enjoys dialouge over action and this just delighted him.The fun facts in this movie made me feel my oats and the historical references were fun to look and listen for. This movie is a historian's dream and I genuinely enjoyed it. Just wish Owen Wilson said "wow" more.
adam This movie is a fanciful romp through time and space in the City of Lights, with a screenwriter-turned-aspiring-novelist (Owen Wilson as Gil Pender) as the protagonist. Its central conflict is about love, creativity, and that funny feeling of nostalgia for periods which you personally have never seen, for Gil the 1920s and for Adriana the 1890s. It is wry, fanciful, and that sort of chuckle-funny that Woody Allen excels at. It is rarely funny enough to laugh, and the series of inexplicably attractive women that surround the creative types of the movie is wish fulfillment at its worst.Woody Allen's unmistakable touches cover this movie, and it is richer for it. The clichéd image of romantic Paris is mocked, extended, and even reinvigorated by his irreverent touch. Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams both do fine jobs, and Wilson's character dominates the movie, but the real star to me is Marion Cotillard's wonderful portrayal of Adriana. She is an effervescent and artistic delight. This movie is well worth a watch, and I enjoyed it a great deal.(I have seen this before, but I last watched it on August 13, 2017)
