Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

lisafordeay Marmaduke is suppose to be so bad it only got 9% in Rotten Tomatoes yes making its grade an F. Anyways this film is based on a comic on the same name and stars a A list cast that includes, Owen Wilson from Night At the Museum franchise alongside Steve Coogan who also worked in that franchise I have mentioned,Damon Wayan Jr who is from Big Hero 6,and his brother Marlon Wayans from that god awful White Chicks flick,Emma Stone from The Amazing Spiderman and of course Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas with George Lopez from The Smurfs.It tells the tale of a dog named Marmaduke(voiced by Wilson)who's family are moving to the Orange County(O.C) in California as Marmaduke's owners(played by Lee Pace and Judy Greet from 13 Going On 30)have to move as Lee Pace's charcther has a job where he has to look after dogs with William H Macy. So Marmaduke tries his best to fit in and meets a cute dog named Maise(voiced by Emma Stone) and her two pals(voiced by Steve Coogan and Christopher Mintz Plase from How To Train Your Dragon)but of course Marmaduke has a crush on a collie(voiced by Fergie aka Stacy Ferguson Duhmel)and the problem is of course she is in the cool gang led by 24 Actor Keifer Sutherland. So can Marmaduke prove that he is a clever cool dog that belongs.Bottom line this is strictly for those who love dogs and talking animals movies like Doctor Dolittle,Babe,Racing Stripes the list goes on. Yes this movie does have A lot of CGI with their animals which makes them look unrealistic and silly but hey for some strange odd reason I kinda enjoyed this film. Maybe like I said its cause I am a dog lover and I liked the actors that are in it. Also the voice acting I can't help but think of Emma Stone and Owen Wilson in my head. Its like they were in my mind the whole time in the flesh as I seen both actors in previous films. So yes the voice acting is distracting but if you want to watch it for the dogs than be my guest as they are the real stars of this film. The story is silly,and the premise is stupid but for the animals I give it a thumbs up.One of my Guilt Pleasures. 5/10

trixie-k-88 Here comes Marmaduke! The clumsy, silly Great Dane leaps onto the big screen with the voice of Owen Wilson! Sounds hilarious right? Think again. This movie is awful, absolutely awful. Marmaduke focuses on the life of Marmaduke, the clumsy Great Dane mentioned above. Marmaduke and his family are moving to a new home and he is nervous about fitting in to the new place. His owner works for a dog food company, and goes to work/meetings every day at the dog park, where he brings Marmaduke. There, Marmaduke finds friends with the three outcast dogs, Mazie, an Austrailian Shepherd, Giuseppe, a Chinese Crested, and Raisin, a Dachshund mix. He is snubbed by the popular and beautiful Collie Jezebel, as well as her tough, controlling Beauceron boyfriend Bosco, and the rest of the popular "pedigrees". With the help of the family cat Carlos (who is horribly voiced by George Lopez) and a wild party he throws, Marmaduke gains more popularity with Jezebel and the other pedigrees. Through some dumb antics and "lessons" Marmaduke realizes what is truly important in the movie's predictable conclusion.This movie is stupid, annoying, and hard to watch. Moreover, it's not about dogs! This is a movie about an awkward teenager fitting into a new high school, only they use dogs and a dog park instead of a boy and a school. The movie is so aware of this that it first shows a teenage boy in school while Marmaduke first describes himself in the opening narration. There is little to nothing "dog" about this movie, and most of the voice actors are so miscast that it looks stupid when you see the animals "talk". Some kids might like this, but it is absolutely painful for adults. If your kids want to see a movie with talking dogs, get them Homeward Bound. If you want to watch a movie with a goofy Great Dane, watch The Ugly Dachshund.

Zackery Burgess I really didn't want to watch this movie, but my little sister forced me to watch, and we agreed that if 30 minutes into this movie it sucks then I can leave. As you expect I left at the 30 minute mark. Wow, this movie was just awful. How can you take a comic strip like Marmaduke and turn it into this piece of crap!? Really Hollywood? Were you this desperate? You mix the whole outsider teenage movie with a talking animal movie, both that been done to death. Add a many pop culture references and unlikeable characters? I mean why Marmaduke? A newspaper comic strip with one panel where it's just a great dane who just does stupid things, but in a cute in funny way. This is neither funny or cute. Its a piece of dog crap. (Pund intended) And I'm from Pennyslvania so this is also insults our state dog.

selarom-yar I just saw this movie for the first time. I came to it with an open mind willing to be entertained. I have to admit that it was a good family movie that it is paced well and tells a simple story. Not full of of slapstick joke, but it has a very refreshing predictable and simple plot and easy to follow. A great movie for discussing family values and what loyalty, love and friendship is all about and the dynamics of it.Good family movie . . . don't listen to the basher and purist that movies have to be a perfect reflection of reality. This is a great movie in a traditional sense.Sit and back and enjoy it . . .
