Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
beresfordjd Jason Manford is a real talent. Unlike Michael McIntyre he is actually really funny. How MM has achieved his stardom is beyond me. This performance at Manchester Apollo is great. He relates to his audience in a really natural unselfconscious way. He is a quick thinking genuine performer who holds his audience in the palm of his hand. They like him and it shows. His material is not all brilliant but his delivery raises the quality and even the jokes which are not surefire still make the viewer/audience laugh. He deserves all the kudos that go to the McIntyres of this entertainment world. We just watched this DVD for the second time and I actually found it funnier the second time around even though I knew what was coming. Only Peter Kay is funnier in stand-up within his genre.
Jackson Booth-Millard If it wasn't for Dave Spikey leaving, and the new rising star replacing him on 8 Out of 10 Cats, he may not have been as successful as he has become. Jason Manford is a young fresh-faced comedian from Bolton (I didn't realise he was as young as he was actually), and his material is actually really good, and not just on a comedy panel show. Obviously being from Bolton, there is a little comparison to Peter Kay, but his material has no similarity, and the style is all his own. Manford makes some great gags about what television he watches, his home and family life, and some of the experiences he has been through to be where he is, all with great humour. Jason Manford was number 65 on 100 Greatest Stand-Ups 2010. Very good!
Weev Rowland I have been a fan of Jason Manford even before his meteoric rise to UK TV stardom in recent times and was very much anticipating a show to remember. I was not disappointed! He had a lot to live up to as I had just seen Michael Mcintyre and Russell Brand's live shows. This was the first time in many a year I have laughed all the way through a stand up show, sides hurting to boot. Both his comedic style and delivery are brilliant including great observations from growing up, the typical dad and every day things that will get you saying out loud while laughing your socks off' "that is so true!"100% recommend this especially if you are new to UK stand up comedy. He is one of the best on the circuit and will be for many years to come. In my opinion, right up there with the legend that is Peter Kay.10/10 without a doubt.
