Synopsis

Battle-scarred and disillusioned by the war, Corporal Chris Merrimette is put in charge of a unit whose next mission is to resupply a remote outpost on the edge of Taliban-controlled territory. While driving through the hostile Helmand province, a Navy SEAL flags down their convoy and enlists the unit on an operation of international importance: they must help an Afghan woman famous for her defiance of the Taliban escape the country. Without tanks or air support, Merrimette and his team will need all the courage and firepower they can muster to fight their way across the war-torn country and shepherd the woman to safety.

SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Murphy Howard I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
blackacid If Jarhead was a subtle, slow-burning study of the Middle Eastern occupation through the eyes of a grunt, Jarhead 2 is the complete opposite. It's an entertaining if dumb action flick but has very little in common with reality or common sense.Ambushed on a supply run, a team of marines switches their mission object to keep an Afghan woman out of the hands of Taliban with the help of Cole Hauser's NAVY Seal. The acting is fine and the action is well shot, if totally preposterous with overkill.I can't claim to have served in conflict, but I'm pretty certain soldiers on both sides wouldn't frequently waste RPG's just to blow up one person armed only with a gun, instead of disabling vehicles and such, for which these weapons are designed. A lot of the action pieces seemed designed for cinema gore effects only and pretty much took me out of the reality that the rest of the film worked hard to achieve. As did a point after a gun fight where the soldiers opt to walk to their destination through hostile territory, instead of commandeering the Taliban cars.It wasn't the worse movie, and for the most part was exciting enough to hold my attention, but it could have been a lot better had it not been for nonsensical movie tropes that burst the bubble.
anarchyclub72 Yes, I know this is just a movie, but if you're going to make a movie about 'something', then you should probably research whatever it is first. There are just way too many mistakes and awkward conversations/interactions between the Marines to make this enjoyable. First off, the conversation about "bushes" (no, not the foliage) was completely out of place and bizarre. 2). If you find me an ANA guy that runs in front of everyone and successfully deactivates an IED by himself...I'll eat my hat. 3). The optics used were incorrect, and some of them weren't even put on properly. Holographic sites were backwards and so were the red dots. 4). The weapons used were incorrect. Should be using M4's not M16A4. Furthermore, why did one of the Marines have an SBR?5). Why were the Taliban using LAWs?6). If you ride the charging handle on a .50 cal you're going to be in for a rough time.7). If you unload your entire magazine on full auto you're not going to be hitting much at 50+ yards. No one does that in real life. 8). The segment where they're unloading full-auto during a 'training exercise' was just...the female 'Marine' didn't even shoulder the weapon properly.I think that's enough for now. Please, if you're going to make a movie about the military, at least put in some time to research everything and train the actors in the proper use of their equipment.
Steven Kind I recently just saw this movie and overall I would give it five out of ten stars because overall it was a decent film not perfect but decent. There are many different reasons why I gave this film a five out of ten. War movies are definitely one of my favorite genres of movies but this movie is definitely not one of the best war movies. This movie lacks a lot of realism it is not as realistic as some other films. I am not going to share any spoilers but this movie can be very unrealistic at times. I would say that this movie is definitely better than the first Jarhead because it had a lot more action. This movie is focused mostly around combat while the first film gets more in depth into the lives of the characters. But in this movie you don't learn that much about the characters lives and you have to try to figure out many different things about each characters personality. This movie also has many different action scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat but there should be more. I definitely have seen better War films like Saving Private Ryan and Full Metal Jacket. But I will definitely remember this film as a great story about a group of Marines.
tregouetsylvain Jarhead 1 was excellent, this one is way too patriotic, with the Americans on the good side, despite most of the war, occident is going now, is just for resources and lobbies interests, I found it a bit hard, to promote such a propaganda, behind such a cheap scenario. It's about American soldier always doing the right thing, because they fight for America, saving lives, and fighting for freedom, but this does not happen in real life.Nowadays, Marines serve for their presidents, who themselves serve the ones that finance their campaigns. Where jarhead 1 was sticking to a more real feel , here not at all. It could have been a good scenario back in a days' when commando was out, but would not be compared to a big title like apocalypse now , full metal jacket, saint soldiers or jarhead 1.
