paradise_online It was really interesting. I loved this movie. I watch all the animation movies and I think it was one of the best. I liked the idea that some part of that were gray and other parts colorful. I would like to see more jobs like this which reminds me of the other movie in this genera, Corpse bride. This movie has something to teach while being entertaining. It was not like many other boring animation movies which can only attract kid's attention. It teaches kids the face and beauty is not everything, but being nice and useful for the society is what really matters. The movie has the massage of ignoring other's weaknesses like blind kids in the movie and just look at the beautiful personalities. The animation features of the movie was also nice and advance.
shishir sharma This movie is way better than many animated movies released in 2008,this movie is imaginative ,creative and intelligent but sadly thrown in to the garbage by many critics , sometimes i don't understand why was this movie panned ,while other undeserving movies like bolt was a huge hit which was not at all funny ,had weak plot and i kind of found it to be poorly directed.Igor is a film which is funny has intelligent dialogues and doesn't lose it's track till the end. i would say suggest to people to buy the DVD take a bucket of popcorn ,and enjoy this delightful movie.i give this movie 7\10
Sherpakhan This movie should not have worked. It had fairly standard characters--the henchman who wants to be a great inventor, the bitter immortal, the stupid brain, the not-so-evil Frankenstein-esquire Monster. It had predictable gags, a clichéd plot, and voice actors that made it easy to tell who was the hero, who was the villain, and who was the comic relief. It was filled with puns that were absolute groaners. In any other movie, I would have shut off the television within the first ten minutes. But somehow, with this movie...it worked. The plot was comfortable and gave me a warm, cosy glow--while still somehow being unique and funny. Scamper and Brain (Brian) made me laugh until I almost cried, and when Igor and Eva interacted, I wanted to cry from happiness. Schadenfreude was an amazing villain. Dr. Glickenstein was, essentially, John Cleese, and Jay Leno made an excellent king. Yeah, the puns were still groaners, but somehow...they worked. And despite the fact that they set one up right from the very beginning of the movie, none of us who were watching the movie figured it out until they dropped the punchline on us. Several plot twists came out of nowhere, or we just didn't catch them. And the ending was just adorable. All in all, 10/10, and I recommend this movie to anyone. (By the way, I should mention that "we" who were watching this movie are juniors and seniors in college. This is a fun one for everybody.)
anxietyresister Like a lot of computer animated movies these days, Igor is long on inventive visuals but short on good scripting. We have the formula as usual: misunderstood protagonist, his cute comedic sidekicks, the duplicitous villain and the complicated love interest. Something is missing though: a small ingredient called charm. And wit, if you really want to be thorough. Aside from a few amusing lines from the ever-sarcastic Steve Buscemi, and a indescribable finale where a female Frankenstein creates mayhem while dancing to the hits from 'Annie', there's precious little for anyone over the age of puberty to get their teeth into. The horror film-inspired art design is well done, but it still pales in comparison to the 16 year old stop motion The Nightmare Before Christmas.Which is the main problem.. there's nothing new here which hasn't already been done (and mostly better) in movies of a similar ilk. A decade ago, CGI films were still a novelty. Nowadays, like their 2D counterparts back in the 80's, the market is utterly clogged with them, and the love seems to have gone out of the production. Result: we get forgettable, identikit films like this, which are only good as a flickering babysitter why mummy and daddy are spending their benefits down the pub. I've probably said something similar in another review, but the days of Toy Story and Shrek seem a LLOONNGG time away.. 5/10
