TinsHeadline Touches You
GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Davis P I usually like Drew Barrymore, but this one was just way too so-so/average to work. Drew Barrymore and Justin long play romantic leads here, their chemistry is just alright, let's just say that they aren't a couple I'd be compelled to pull for, didn't really matter to me whether they stayed together or not in the end. It's not really that Barrymore or Long are bad actors or that they give poor performances, it's just that the two of them put together in a romantic way doesn't work all that well, couldn't buy it. And also the other big issue with the film is the lack of good comedy, it's just not funny. There are a lot of jokes and lines that are supposed to be funny, but in my opinion they aren't even mildly amusing. The script is pretty average too, the dialogue isn't that creative, very predictable and bland. That actually is the one word I'd use to describe this whole movie. BLAND. Honestly there were just two things i liked about this film, Christina Applegate and Drew Barrymore. I enjoyed seeing both of these actresses because I'm fans of both, but that really is the extent of the positives here. 4/10.
Movie Champion Have you ever been out on a date with someone who seems very enduring, only ending up to discovering that they have a trashy personality. The romantic comedy film, titled Going the Distance can be described up the same way. The film is a bunch of trash. Its nothing but stupid jokes with no substance. To make things worse, theirs no romance in this show. With that stated I must also state the effort that has clearly been put in to the writing of the script is puzzling. Dose the screenwriter think he is something or do the actors and actresses manage to mess up extraordinarily. In My opinion it's both, that are an horrible mess, that makes this a joke, of a film. The amount of crude humour just smacks ones intelligence in this film. I'm not against the use of most types of humour per say. Yet there is a difference between being told a dirty joke is funny because it's a dirty joke so it just has to be good, and a dirty joke that's actually funny. This movie like so many today, uses the dirty jokes in the worst ways possible for laughter.Summary. A very unromantic, not funny, but a truly forgettable film. Don't see this movie. It dose not work on any level. Going the Distance really goes no place. Forget you ever heard of it. That will be doing yourself a favour
juneebuggy Damn this movie made me laugh. I'm not generally one for the romantic comedies but this was very good. Original story, a whose-who list of fantastic secondary characters and genuine chemistry from two very likable leads in Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. I loved the sarcasm between them in their dialogue. The story here is about a guy and a girl who try to keep their love alive as they shuttle back and forth between New York and San Francisco to see one another. They know the odds aren't in their favour but they're going to try and make this work. There are many laugh-out-loud moments here but that sex scene on the dining room table with the husband right there, sitting in the dark, eating a sandwich and then the sister (Christina Applegate) later cleaning and tossing food that falls on the table just killed me. I will watch this one again one day 03.13
Brandon Blackwell A romantic comedy centered on a guy and a gal who try to keep their love alive as they shuttle back and forth between New York and San Francisco to see one another. From the trailer, I had beliefs the film would be a romantic-comedy. Not only, I also suspected a bit more flair for the guys and make it's standing as a comedy, at the least. But when it was released, I sat down and got WAY less than I had expected. First off, everything was great until they were separated. Honestly, I was enjoying the little flair between the two and the main character hanging with his friends. But after their separation, all the movie turns into is a back and forth relationship. They talk on the phone, sometimes visit each other, and miss each other. It is very clichéd and happens almost every movie... But all I expected was a great comedy, but was disappointed with the results. If your expected what I expected, I would have to say to stay away. If your expecting a clichéd romantic-comedy and enjoy these flicks, maybe I would say to see it, if you positively want to. It's a love it or hate it film, folks. I personally wasn't to fond of it. 4/10.
