I have always loved the original Robocop (1987), it's always been a classic for me. After watching this movie - but not the original - I have come to the conclusion that this is like an even more futuristic version of Robocop, with a hint of Japan robotics in the mix.For me, this movie does a female version of Robocop, that's what I think Scarlett Johanson does best by the way. I've watched her do something similar in at least a couple of other roles she played: In the movie Lucy (2016) and in the Avengers franchise she plays Black Widow(she does the role 3 times!). Please do yourself a favor and watch at least one of these movies - my favorite being Ghost in the Shell!

I believe this movie is a great start and attempt at recreating Ghost in the Shell as a live-action adaptation! Even though I have only watched once, my review is mostly expressing something similar I noticed which another critic stated. The lack of emotional content is probably the only thing that made this movie a bit dull at times. Everything else is fairly on-point and amazing to witness for the first time. Being that this is one of my favorite anime shows and that I love animation, having an observant opinion about this type of subject is not my first rodeo. I understand the futuristic references and possibly lack of emotions, but the Major becomes very displaced in her role throughout the film. The action drama is trying to cover that, but it is not very effective. Besides that aspect of this movie, it is decent and worth watching every now and then.

The story was boring and was barely saved by the impressive and colourful graphics.
To be frank, Scarlet Johansson is not much of an actress so she cannot raise the level of the whole thing either. I think the movie studios should look in the mirror and agree that they cannot continue with these remakes.
