Harvey Wren I'm purely reviewing the film because this needs to be stated and completely understood. I don't care that the animals involved are mostly animated, but it is absolutely horrifying for me, as an experienced guinea-pig owner, to witness such lifelike cavies being treated as they were from the pet store scenes onwards, and I've now had to stop the film just after the little girl dressing up the (LONE) female she bought, because I'm sickened and upset by it. I had put off until tonight to watch it, just because I wanted to watch something different and give it a go (and Disney films are amongst my favourite, along with other animated films which feature animals, so don't assume I'm not familiar with such works). I can look past the 'hamster X ferret' thing, because it's just something light-hearted and funny, but in no way was it necessary to display the guinea-pigs in a TANK, WITH the hamster (the species' should not mix as their diets are very different), and then show a guinea-pig using a large wheel which they should never use in real life because their spines DO NOT curve inwards like a hamster or rat's as efficiently to allow them to run in a wheel. I was disgusted by the 'scruffy' guinea-pig being thrown across the pet store, intended to be eaten by the snake - do the film-makers have ANY idea how much of a reality that is for some guinea-pigs, that pet stores sell a lot of guinea-pigs unknowingly to sick-minded snake owners who insist of feeding their snakes live mammals?! It's completely barbaric that scene! Nevermind the fact that the little girl chose the sow guinea- pig to dress her up, put make-up on her and treat her like a doll!Like I said, I stopped it there and I no longer wish to watch any more of it. I'm only angry about this because it wasn't a cartoon, so it doesn't assume any sense of it being real. It was depicting reality and trying to get it accurately enough with the design of the animated animals being so fantastic - sadly, that's the only positive I can give this film. The story itself, however, I was utterly bored with anyway.
Austin Takahashi Home appliances are about to cause global chaos, and highly trained guinea pigs are our only hope. Well, not really. We have the Marines, the Army, the Navy Seals, Home Depot, and much more. But this is a movie by Disney, so them guinea pigs will have to do for now.Okay. What we've got here is a Disney movie with talking pets as the main characters. With that knowledge, we're gonna need a chubby one for the cute factor, which is Hurley. A little romance is mandatory, which is made possible by Juarez. Of course, we need someone for the laughs. That is why Blaster is here. A team like this needs a leader, Darwin. And a movie like this needs fart jokes. At least two of them. No questions askedRead more here: http://localmoviereview.com/g-force-movie-review/
FilmFanatic03 What a great film! I was expecting the cheesiest film mankind has ever seen but the reason why i saw it anyway was because it has guinea pigs in! But i was pleasantly surprised as it wasn't that cheesy, and the cheesy bits were a fun cheesy, not a cringe cheesy. I loved how they made a films about Guinea pigs into an action film. I think it's for the whole family to watch and enjoy. Of course there is nothing offencive in this film since the primary target audience are kids so that was a great bonus. The Guinea pigs have adult voice which normally never works on a animal movie because it spoils their cuteness but the Guinea pigs were still cute. I love this film, i think it's worth the watch and you can make your decision but for me i'm going to say it is a fun movie, not Oscar worthy, but still a great film!
lasagnacrudswirl Take every movie you've ever seen, watched the trailer for, or even just heard of. Take the good ones. The bad ones. The in-between ones. Mush them all together. Add guinea pigs. Wait--make it...guinea pig spies. Oh, and while your at it, throw a couple top 40s songs in to play at inappropriate moments. There! You have just created something similar to the movie G-Force. This movie had me cracking up laughing, but not at the halfhearted fart jokes. I simply could not believe it was possible to shove so many clichés, pointless allusions, and plain old corniness into one movie. I half expected the "bad guy" (who actually calls himself the bad guy, more corniness) to be Darwin's father. We watched this movie out of Redbox, so we only wasted a dollar on it. That's probably the reason that I could take this horrible movie so lightheartedly. I spent most of the first half in disbelief and most of the second half making fairly accurate guesses of what cliché was going to come next. (Here comes the monologue...here comes the Disney moment).I guess Disney thought that they should stick to stories about fuzzy animals based off of action movies after their success with Bolt. But what really made Bolt, or a lot of the older Disney movies, or the new Pixar movies, successful is that they have heart. G-Force doesn't, just a couple of cute guinea pigs and some random moments that were so stupid they were funny. And that's not enough to save a movie.
