Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
shakercoola A teenager skips school for a taste of carpe diem around Chicago and so he can help his best friend win some self-respect. The school dean is hot on their trail but Ferris Bueller is always one step ahead. All of the adults are dim-witted and one-dimensional and the solutions to teenage problems are quite simplistic but there is warmth, whimsicality, sweetness, good humour and the film's heart is in the right place.
willylutz A definition of a good movie is one that impacts people generation after generation. That never gets old to no matter who is watching. Like a good series over years, Star Wars for example Continue to be popular years after they come out. A movie that isn't apart of a series that has done this for many years and will continue to do so for many years is Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It has become one of the most classic comedy movies of all time and the main reason we all love it is because we all wish we could be Ferris Bueller for a little bit. For most of high school there are moments when I dream of not having to worry about the homework and absences of school. Ferris bueller has the guts to not care about all this and make the most of his time and live to the fullest unlike his buddy Cameron. Although for this one day Ferris gets rid of all doubt and fear and takes of course big risks. Although being caught almost everyday Ferris still risks it for the biscuit and gets bolder and bolder as the day goes on. Absolutely forgetting the fact Ferris could not graduate if he gets caught he still goes on and has a blast per usual. With Cameron leading their day it would have only lasted an hour or so but with Ferris they get the opportunity to go to a baseball game and lead a parade in Chicago and much much more while celebrating his life with his girlfriend and best friend and continue to live life with Ferris's crazy sister and very oblivious parents running around and living life while they can to the most of their ability and living by his own quote "life moves pretty fast, if you don't slow down every once in a while, you might miss it." Matthew Broderick (Ferris) is extremely comical and very smooth throughout The Whole movie. He even connects with the audience on a whole new level when he directly talks to them at the beginning of the movie and multiple times throughout. This allows us to see in what Ferris sees and how he plans things and what he wants to happen and helps you better comprehend the movie. It shows him better that a lot of time and thought are put into his plans and that he is not just a big lazy bum and slacker throughout school and life but rather very smart and hardworking when he wants to be. Ferris throughout the movie seems to be the person that everyone is jealous of and wants to be who Ferris is. Even his sister who plots against him The Whole movie but when it becomes the middle of the movie and towards the end you come to realize that almost everyone who conspires against Ferris is actually jealous and respects what he has accomplished and almost envy him. Another thing that was really impactful throughout this film was the music and sounds. For example during the parade in downtown Chicago they used the song "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles and shows how cheerful and what a great time they are all having. The thing about songs and music is it can emphasize the mood of the movie and how the characters are feeling during certain scenes. Like when it would show his sister it would be a kinda darker slower music because she was always trying to catch him. Also the sounds emphasize where you are for example when the dean of students, Mr. Rooney is in the arcade it is a lot of noise and random objects emphasizing chaos and lots of confusion for him making him make mistakes and mistake a girl for Ferris. Sounds can change entire aspects of a movie making it fearful or joyful and throughout this movie the majority of the sounds are cheerful and show joy for Ferris and Cameron, whereas for Mr. Rooney and Ferris's sister are negative and dull. The sounds in this movie really help emphasize the mood and do a really good job making it the movie it is to be. One thing about this movie that could have been better I believe is the plot. I couldn't seem to find a point as to what the whole point is. I thought they could have shortened up the scene with Ferris's sister because I didn't understand really where she came in at the end and tried giving her more apart of the movie but I didn't think she really had a meaning or a purpose in the moving rather than trying to get Ferris in trouble. I think John Hughes the director should have cut that scene and maybe focused more on Ferris and almost getting caught by Edward Rooney the Dean of students. Although this is just a monitor flaw in this movie all in all I think it is a class act film. John Hughes who directs this movie does a wonderful job emphasizing that kids should live your life to the fullest and have fun while you are young. He shows don't care what other people think just do what you think is right and have fun while your doing it even if getting out of school is what is right. This movie is so good it will continue to be a gem for years to come as it has been since it left the box office.
johnthehooker From start to finish this film was utterly amazing. There may not be lots of action, but contrary to belief a great film does not need to be full of action. The simplicity of this film is it's genius, Ferris is a rule breaker. But he is certainly a very likeable character & along with the growth of his best friend during the film Cameron. The relationship between these characters & the constant chase from the head teacher Rooney, give this film a real depth. I can guarantee this film will bring a smile to anyone's face. No matter what mood you may be in, this is a film that will always lighten your mood. It is one of those films that everyone needs to make sure they see at least once in there life.
dpatsawyer What a self-indulgent piece of crap. Yes, it has its humorous parts. Most not to do with Broderick. Here is a guy who killed two people in a road accident in Ireland (Northern Ireland), got off lightly, offers no recompense to the two victims' families, because he is Hollywood, that means spoiled and he offers no remorse, but just "does not remember what happened", sort of like the BS that Ferris thinks he can get away with. Spoiled little Hollywood brat who destroyed a family and offered no remorse on his part. Do you really like this guy?
