Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
ropoppon In the first 10 minutes, I knew there was something wrong and then BOOM! Gay scene (just hate this part), then the next, just a plain story. No emotion, and make me vomit of positive thoughts.
TheLittleSongbird Was drawn into seeing 'Feral', with a cool poster/cover, a promising trailer, an intriguing premise and as someone with a general appreciation for horror. That it was low-budget, which from frequent personal experience is rarely a good sign due to that there are so many poor ones out there, made me though apprehensive. It is sadly however yet another film seen recently, hence some reiteration because the exact same strengths and flaws are here present in those films, that to me was incredibly disappointing considering its potential which it doesn't do anywhere near enough with. 'Feral' is weak, with so many huge flaws and doesn't do enough with its potential, which was hardly small. There is very little to recommend in 'Feral'.Lets start with the positives.. The scenery is atmospheric and spooky, and is surprisingly well shot. 'Feral' also starts off promisingly, it does intrigue and it does have creepiness.Going on to the negatives, the story does feel over-stretched and some of it comes over as vague and under-explained in the last third where the film especially became duller, more predictable, more senseless and less unsettled and never gaining momentum. Too many characters are too sketchy and with nowhere near enough to make one want to endear to them. Their annoying and illogical decision making and behaviours frustrates. Making the film feel bland and forgettable with not enough heart put into it. The effects are ropy at best, the sound quality is obvious and utilised cheaply (being too loud in the build ups and people's reactions) and all of the acting is lacking severely, Scout Taylor Compton's performance will make one not stop cringing. Dialogue can be stilted and rambling while the pace and film drags on forever after such an intriguing start and doesn't recover. Even the ending however is botched, due to being so afterthought-like and with no sense of how to end it. Found too many of the supposedly shocking moments not surprising or scary and the supposedly creepy atmosphere dreary, due to the excessive obviousness, a lot of dumb and vague moments and explanations and the lack of tension and suspense. A lot of 'Feral' has underdeveloped plot elements and often nonsensical and confusing character motivations, while too many of the things to make you shocked are far from creative or unsettling. There is not enough threat here and what there is of it tends to be used poorly, while the horror elements are unimaginative and are more odd than scary, completely failing to show any sense of horror. Some badly sagging momentum too and a lot of weirdness. The direction is leaden, got the sense their heart was not in it, and the music is ill-fitting.Concluding, weak with no substance or entertainment value. 3/10 Bethany Cox
shagee7977 I am a big fan of the peril In the woods theme. Director Mark Young brings us Feral and obvious homage to the genre especially Cabin Fever. You know your in for a ride from the opening frame to the last. The movie opens up with a bound bloodied girl with all soars and violent outbursts. A man is seen brandishing a shot gun as the obvious transformation is taking place. The final stage is a feature like zombie and she is brought down. Flash forward to a group of 3 couples one being same sex, out celebrating there college graduation from medical school. One of the couples had camped out in the woods when younger and drags the others on this outing. After getting lost and it getting late they decide on a spot and set camp up. After sitting around the camp and trading conversations about there is land for the future the fun begins. They settle in there tents. One of the campers goes to pee and he is attacked by one of the monsters. Truly good Fx old school gore soon follows. His girlfriend worried when he doesn't return goes to look for him. She to is attacked but survives. Now fear strikes after they feel it must be a wild animal. They find a local at a near by cabin and he agrees to help. He has a dark secret and explains to them what is going on. The movie is a good ole fashion fun horror in the woods thriller. A pretty cast, fun dialogue and really cool gross out FX. The blood flows and horror fans will not be disappointed. I never tire of this genre and after the disappointing Cabin Fever remake, this movie shines with originality and actual scares. Not silly ridiculous scene after scene like so many of these movies. Mark Young really transfers the script to the screen flawlessly and provides a good summertime popcorn movie to be enjoyed on a rainy day weekend or dark stormy night. The twist on the zombie generation with these feral beast like zombies is Original and works. Directed by Mark Young.Written by Adam Frazier and Mark YoungStarring Scout Taylor-Compton, Olivia Luccardi, Lew Temple, Renee Olstead, Brock Kelly, Landry Allbright, and George Finn.
horrorgasm I've seen much worse, but it's still not a good movie by any means. As everyone else here has already said, very weak acting and script. Just another generic cabin in the woods story that we've already seen done so much better, so many times already. The nicest thing I can say is that the effects are passable, but not in any way impressive. Not that you'll be seeing much of them anyway since this is yet another cheap horror movie that didn't have anywhere near the budget it needed to do what it wanted to do, and so the majority of the movie just time-wasting filler. And oh man, can someone PLEASE get Olivia Luccardi to a dentist already? I think that gap is actually getting bigger.
