TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Tasha Scott-Murphy OK I know this is a movie that you either love or hate. I do realise that the people who hate it it's mostly because it's like E.T. But I think that's the good thing about it, E.T was such a classic but people now a days don't watch E.T it's quite old I know that I never watched E.T until I saw this at the cinema with my brother. This movie just shows how much E.T is appreciated, this movie though is very different to E.T. So people should stop complaining about it being a copy of it.Earth To Echo is amazing in its own way because I bet many people have watched E.T but I don't think many of the younger people of this generation would have watched it or heard of it. But Earth to Echo is the new modern day version that was created for many of those people who never seen E.TI infant love Earth To Echo I thought it was a great movie I really loved watching it, I'm not so sure about the people in the same cinema as me. I think I might have enjoyed it to much and got a bit excited and chatty!! WHOOPSS but that's how you are when you get to see a great and fun movie, I remember me and my brother talking about this movie for ages and then when it came out I went straight out and bought the DVD. I was so happy that I had got the DVD and I could watch it again and again. Overall this is great movie so you haters who are saying its a copy of E.T, Who cares, it doesn't matter what you think. Most people love this movie and you should definitely watch it.I'm though am still waiting for the sequel!!!!!
kennethtownsend-97230 The movie Earth to Echo was a very creative movie and wasn't just like every other cliché movie with aliens in it. There were a few parts that did remind me of another movie but besides the one or two parts that contained something that reminded me of another movie, it was original. The editing in the movie was very commendable and the parts that showed Echo's sight was also creative and commendable. In the movie there are three boys who are best friends who are forced to move out because of a road being made right above their homes. A few days before they have to home out, one of their phones starts to show a map. They all decide to go to where the map is and they end up finding an alien who needs help to get back home.My opinion on this movie is that it is very creative and I liked how it wasn't just like every other alien movie. It had a interesting plot and the special effects creative. The ending was slightly easy to guess but the story itself was very creative and the movie was very interesting.
slochops2000 It used to be that IMDb's user reviews were well written by people who, even if not a professional critic, could write a solid review based on some amount of knowledge in regards to filmmaking... Now, any Joe Schmoe can be a critic, so take all user reviews with a grain of salt....Earth to Echo is nothing more than a poorly made knockoff of E.T. with no heart or soul. Only the character "Alex" and the "girl" have any remote chance of a future acting in films, and the other two are just filler, rambling nonsense and throw-away lines with no purpose. Remember how it was just E.T. and Elliott? There was a reason that was the case. This movie was literally all over the map, it is scattered in it's lack of rhythm and pacing, using fictional towns with fictional store names set in a location that could be near Area 51 in Nevada I suppose. But the biggest problem is using the point of view from a small hand held camera by one of the characters, a preteen that likes to make movies, although his personality was very unlike any filmmaker I've ever met. The use of his hand-held through 80% of the film created a great deal of dizziness and nausea for my wife, kids, and myself. This was completely unnecessary beyond the first ten minutes of the film. I would recommend everyone and anyone to spend your time more wisely than on this poorly designed excuse for another E.T. remake...
ben-fenton2014 A sincere film which catches flak because of comparisons to E.T. Sure, there's some common ground there, but I'd say Batteries Not Included meets The Goonies is a better comparison. Or rather, leave the comparisons behind and enjoy the film for what it is.Not everyone is going to like the mock documentary (it's not found footage) style. I personally have a soft spot for the stuff, and in this respect the film reminds me of Lunopolis--using the format because it adds to the story, not as a way to save money. (The obviously expensive special effects make it clear that's not why they chose the format.) As to the acting, I've read some criticisms, but I thought that the acting was competent enough to pull the story along. They're kids, and given the mock documentary style they actually did much better than the majority of adult actors in that format. The story is well written, uses proper techniques of foreshadowing and character development, all the parts click together nicely. The theme of the film is friendship, put simply. A good theme for this sort of film. And there's some pretty cool science fiction stuff I really liked. Kind of a must for a sci-fi film.In all, I gave this film a 9/10 because it achieves its goals in storytelling, direction, and production. It wasn't an amazing film, by any means, but is a solid entry and one I would definitely recommend if you're looking for something upbeat with themes of friendship and togetherness.
