BoardChiri Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Bumpy Chip It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Arahones I'm a fan of the series, watched all the shows several times, played a lot of the games, so in short, I like Dragon Ball content. This movie however, it is just awful. The story is a joke and the whole movie is just boring.***Spoilers***Some officer from Frieza's old empire has the idea to summon the Dragon Balls and revive Frieza, who is stuck in teddy bear/rainbow hell. Frieza has proved to be no match for Goku, especially now Goku has defeated the far superior Cell, Buu and other much stronger villains and sparring partners. But Frieza has a trick up his sleeve, he never trained in his life (because he was lazy), but now he is going to train. Jup, Frieza is joining the gym. This will give him ultra mega golden super power and catches up with Goku and Vegeta (who are supposed to be more than 1000/10.000 times stronger) with a healthy carb diet and some cardio. When Frieza arrives on earth, Goku is not there, he destroy's north city, which seems to be more a inconvenience to all heroes. He uses thousands of henchmen to fight the earthen heroes as Piccolo, Krillin, Tien and Gohan, who have lots of problems killing them. Yep, that Gohan, who can tap into all of his power without even going 'super', destroyed Cell and rivaled Buu, now has trouble with henchmen. He needs a sensu bean to recover.Anyhow, Goku and Vegeta arrive, the fight in short; let's start full power, fight, that wasn't real full power, actual full power fight (Blue hair vs Golden Frieza), Frieza loses, but tricks the heroes by destroying earth and all is lost, but wait, Michael Sheen can reverse time and make everything good again. The end. What a waste of time.
bandicootl This movie, like Dragon Ball itself, has a lot that will appeal to first time watchers. The flashy fights, the enigmatic, charismatic characters and the story will make both die hard and new fans of the franchise feel like they were watching a high budget episode of the show. Complete with great voice acting by the returning cast, this film adds something new while reminding us about the old, infamous, villain Frieza. I don't want to diverge to much into the technical and production specifications but I felt it was my duty as a fan of Dragon ball to tell both old and new fans that they can rest assured of this being a return to format for the show, opening many exiting possibilities for future movies and Dragon Ball Super, the TV show which tells the story of both 'Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods' and 'Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F' while also continuing with new episodes. It is a must watch for fans of Dragon Ball and a recommendation for someone who is looking to get into a new TV Show, though I recommend watching the entirety of Dragon ball and Dragon ball Z, a large request, you could still find enjoyment in this movie despite not having knowledge about Dragon Ball lore.
dominiquegomez Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', the newest theatrical release from the popular anime series Dragon Ball Z, is one film that fans of the series must watch. Once again Goku is called to defend the Earth. However, Goku's enemy this time is an old foe risen from the grave, Frieza. Can Goku defeat an evil resurrected? With a returning voice acting cast from Battle Of Gods, Akira Toriyama's own personal supervision and a talented animation crew, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' does justice in delivering fast paced action. What fan doesn't want to see Goku beat up on an evil villain? However, while scenes with action excel, the scenes where no action takes place are lackluster.Resurrection 'F' picks up a few months after the events from Battle Of Gods, where the Earth is found safe after Lord Beerus decides to spare the Earth from destruction. But typical of the series, there is always a calm before the storm. The remnants of Frieza's army enact their plan to resurrect Frieza using the power of the Dragon Balls. With their plan a success, Frieza plots to take his revenge against Goku and his friends. The animation for the film was well done and had an attention to detail. The animation style shown is better than what normal television cartoons show. When it came to the animation, Toei Animation Studio was chosen for their past work on previous films for the Dragon Ball Z series. Detail was put extensively on body and facial features of each character. Scars and battle wounds received from fights didn't disappear but were held constant throughout. In addition, Toei Animation used CGI during some of the most intense fight scenes. The purpose of the CGI was to highlight each punch and kick thrown, instead of the usual blurred lines that convey intense movement.Along with great animation, the English voice acting in Resurrection 'F' should be praised. Resurrection 'F' has the returning English voice cast of 2014's Battle Of Gods with the addition of Christopher Ayres being cast as the voice of Frieza. While the entire voice cast's performance was phenomenal, special praise should be given to Ayres. Being called to play one of the most notorious villains of Dragon Ball Z must bring with it extreme pressure, but Ayres delivers in his performance of Frieza. Despite having great action and voice acting, there's a lack of tension during any scenes that didn't involve any fighting. It seems like the dialogue between characters was more light-hearted than anything serious. There are only a handful of times outside of any physical conflict, where any real tension is felt. The entire film just seems focused on fighting. In other words, Resurrection 'F' seems to made as a fan service for those that just enjoy fight sequences. It may be appealing to fans to watch Goku battle it out once again against Frieza, but Resurrection 'F' lacks any meaningful punch once the dust settles. For all intents and purposes the fighting and action is some of the best to come from the Dragon Ball Z series. It should be on any fans must watch list. At the same time though, Resurrection 'F' doesn't seem to lead the series as a whole in any direction. I wonder what it is that Toriyama has planned for Dragon Ball. We'll just have to wait and see.
WWF_Deadman_Undertaker I wrote a bad review for the first movie because I seriously thought that movie was lacking in every direction. This time a real foe with no mercy comes back and things get far more interesting. Though it can be annoying that everything seems like sparring at a Muay Thai gym a lot of times between Goku and Vegeta, it was an incredible return to such a significant part (and what was originally supposed to be the finale) of the DBZ saga in Frieza's resurrection. The ties back to the first of this movie series are very well seated. I've seen all of the Dragonball/DBZ movies, and this is close to my favorite, if not winning me over as my favorite. The action and dialog are threaded very thoroughly so there isn't too much of a delay in seeing a battle, but it doesn't happen to be fighting without a story either.I'm definitely going to watch this again with a friend, given the chance. For an anime movie, and a return to the DragonBall Z series, this is definitely a 10/10 and very well worth watching.
