She takes her daughter to London so she can pay her respects.Peter Cattaneo who 20 years ago directed the gritty and charming The Full Monty has come unstuck in this twee, incoherent and cloying drama which has all the clichés and stereotypes in the book.The tough Glaswegian with a mother who has Alzheimer's with a best friend who loves her.The journalist who puts his own career opportunities ahead of marital bliss even when he tries to look for his wife. The confused, rather dim gay teenager. At least his dad understood him (a nice understated performance from Neil Morrissey.)The Asian woman with a dominant husband who puts the boot in by saying 'my mother was right about you.'The whole thing just came across as tacky when the makers tried so hard to be earnest.
