GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Kazi Saad hmmmmm....nice movie! thats what i uttered when i saw Chocolate the first time cause frankly speaking till then i didn't knew it was a LIFT OFF...a dialogue by dilogue copy, GOD DAMN IT!! Why do these jerks even bother?? i actually watched the usual suspect weeks ago....as it was my classic movie day, and then i realized like just minutes into the movie i knew i have watched it before.....b i realized yup....CHOCOLATE....and guess what me evening ruined the movie all messed up, n i will advise all of you guys please don't go buying, renting or streaming this movie instead watch the Usual Suspect if you want entertainment.....i pity the Indian directors....though Indian cinema is working hard to pull it off as a major original movie makers these cannot-risk-money directors opt for the already successful plot thinking they will get a box office hit.....they just hire these famous actor (sunil shetty, arshad warsi etc).HOW DO these ACTORS EvEN SIGN UP!
shomen At the outset, let me make myself very clear on 2 issues. The Usual Suspects is my all time favorite movie and originality is a dying art in Bollywood. Now for the real issue. What was the dimwit director of this dumbass movie thinking of when he thought he had "conceived the idea" to make a movie? Did he think ripping off a Hollywood masterpiece without any admission of guilt would endear himself to the viewing public? Or, even worse, did he have the audacity to think that no one in the viewing public would have the intellect to understand the original masterpiece? Maybe he made it for the "masses" and thought he was attempting something "different". However, the director must have forgotten that despite the waning excitement got out of foreign locales, the "masses" will rarely warm up to a movie shot entirely in the UK. The least he could've done was to have "Indianised" the entire movie in all ways. Then again, an escapist director would always find the easiest way out right?! The only reason I have given this stinker of a movie the 2nd star is because instead of making me boil with anger it made me laugh out loud at the pathetic attempt in futility to create a movie!
mh_ccl While it's true that this movie is a rip-off of "The Usual Suspects," it is still a highly entertaining Bollywood film. Considering that many Bollywood films don't have plots this intricate, I consider this a good movie. There are some key differences: the suspect is not being interrogated by investigators; a woman is added to the gang (which makes for better wet-dress dance scenes); and while some elements of the ending are the same, it is (to my mind) a different ending.I would recommend this movie to people just starting to appreciate Bollywood films: the familiar plot will make it easy to follow, though it ruins the surprise.
myasir1180 My wife rented this movie from the local Desi video store (of course it was bootlegged) and I caught bits and pieces of it while she was watching but what caught my attention was right at the end as all was being revealed. I noticed how it was all lifter directly from "The Usual Suspects" and so I asked her to describe the plot to me in as much detail as possible. Her description was exactly the plot in The Usual Suspects. She said it was probably coincidence so to prove it, I had her play the ending scene for Chocolate and then I played the ending on my laptop side by side and lo-and behold, it was identical. It's really disheartening to see Indian movies that are exact copies of Hollywood movies and don't even give credit to the original. People who have not seen the original will tout this as a wonderful movie but those of us who know better see it for what it is, a complete rip off of a wonderful movie.
