Freaktana A Major Disappointment
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
kdr_a This is set in dystopia men cannot have their babies. The last half scene Clive Owen and others go down the stairs was absolutely good. I was so implessed that my lips couldn't stop shaking. Children is really innocent and holiest, and therefore any people can feel it--regardless of positions, languages and wealth.I didn't realize the famous 10 minutes long takes because I knew it after watching. How peverse the director is! He shot long takes in that chaos scene. By the way, I was so surprised that VFX breakdown came up when looked giving birth scene up. The baby herself was CG!? Amazing...
daltonfordyce This movie, really was a blast to watch. Visually, this is everything you want out of a quick paced movie. A lot is made of the many extended single take scenes, for good reason, but they don't ever get too distracting and just serves to make the world so much more dynamic. Even the color grading of this movie is absolutely perfect. This movie just looks so damn good. Everything else though, is very debatable. The world building, is very haphazardly done. Which is a shame because this could be a very interesting world to explore. But exposition pours out of everyone's face like water. The dialogue is surprisingly corny and shmaltzy. Like I felt like I was watching a Spielberg movie at times with how forceful this movie was with these melodramatic sentiments. Which, juxtaposed, with this dark and gritty world makes it all feel so awkward. Finally, the acting was honestly atrocious. Partially because of the sub par script, but also because of straight up bad casting. Clive Owens and Julianne Moore were decent, with Clive Owen showing glimpses of brilliance. Michael Caine was good beside having some of the worst dialogue. Everyone else though was just so stiff and boring in their performance. It is a real shame. Because the visuals are amazing, and is really the only reason to watch this movie. The story itself could've been interesting, but the script and the actors just ruined it. Please watch it though. It's worth it.
Rados Dabic After watching the movie, if this deserve to be called a movie, I came here to read the reviews. This cannot even be called weird, because than it would be overrated. Total waste of time. Pointless to watch, except if you want to see how deep our society has mentally fallen, and I'm not talking about the story, but about the fact that this movie has even reached the theaters. Not to mention viewers vote mark 7.9/10. This doesn't deserve any penny to be spent on it, nor call it a movie or even spend time to watch. For me, mark this high only shows how sick and perverted viewers have become nowadays. What kind of a sick pervert you need to be to use a baby and immigrants to collect points from even sicker audience? Man kind has fallen, so is theater. With this audience, extremely brain washed, I wouldn't be surprised to see this in Britain or USA even before 2027.Good luck to us all. Before using your brains, feel free to shake your heads a bit. You'd be surprised how helpful can it be and how clear can you see.
john mayor Wow! I've never been so let down by the user ratings on a movie before. Warning! Spoiler to follow: This movie SUCKS!Admittedly, I skipped over this movie when it came out because the storyline synopsis didn't appeal to me. But it showed up in a list of all time greatest sci-fi movies so I checked it out on IMDB and saw the great reviews so figured I'd give it a try. Wish I hadn't. Watching it to the end was painful -- like poke me in the eye with a stick painful. The only thing that kept me going was the thought that something spectacular happens near the end to warrant the score on IMDB -- but it only got worse. Save yourself 2 hours of your life and don't watch this one -- despite the reviews.
