For having a relatively low budget, the film's style and overall art direction are immensely impressive.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

Sorry for bad English. I saw that movie once, 10 year ago. "Armavir" - invented ship. It was similar story with real Russian ship "Admiral Nakhimov" - it sank 31 august 1986 near Novorossiysk (Black Sea). 423 people are dead. This movie not only about shipwreck, but about love father to daughter. About hope and despair, ...memory and oblivion, ...revenge and remorse. One shot of tragedy and father to rush via all Russia, to find and save child, adult child, but he will always protect her. One month after tragedy, and nobody want know about that. It is not Xmas story, it is real life. It is distressing sight, but it's necessary to begin to think. This story have not time and place, it is story about us.
