Absolutely brilliant

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

I didn't know anything about this movie when I began watching it so I didn't know what to expect. With that in mind, Abduction doesn't become interesting until it approaches the half hour mark. I'm not trying to imply it was moving slowly early on but I was beginning to wonder where it was going. Everything started normal but then suddenly shifted into a spy film, replete with many twists and turns. The male haters are envious against the lead actor for obvious reasons. Don't listen to them. This is one of the better covert operation movies out there.

What a lousy movie; I fast-forwarded through most of it. A bunch of stupid, puerile teens in a film with a hole-filled storyline. Bad acting, bad sound, bad direction, bad cinematography... you name it, it was BAD!
Oh yeah, there were several good-looking young girls, but most young girls are good looking with the clothes and makeup they put on to emohasise their best parts and adorn themseles.
The raucous, irritating music probably appeals to some mindless kinds these days, usual crap.
A deeply disappointing movie in all respects. Don't bother with it. 2/10 because there are in fact worse films than this crud.

A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website. Abduction is one of those films that is pretty easy to hate especially for the leading actor Taylor Lautner who in my opinion did a pretty decent job especially with the fight sequences mostly during the fight training in his house and the train fight plus he knows martial arts so that's something, Lily Collins is kinda annoying at times i mean i didn't hate her character or the actress herself but it feels like she could have been cut out of the film and it still wouldn't change a thing. Now where the movie kinda lost me was with the pacing which at times it dragged a lot and i feel like the director tried to focus a lot more in Lautner rather than the rest of the Cast that has more experience and better acting chops than him and i was very disappointed with the fact that Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello were killed so early in the film i mean their characters were pretty interesting and when things started becoming even more interesting they just die? And then Sigourney Weaver shows up to help Nathan and Karen holding some balloons basically a rip- off scene from Eraser starring Arnold Schwarzenegger but even the lack of originality still the movie had some interesting things into it like the whole background of Nathan and his Father and speaking of hid dad? Dermot Mulroney shows up and they have this weird shots on his mouth and his eyes like the audience it's so stupid to not recognize such a famous actor like him. Overall if you count out the fact that it kills or basically disappears many famous actors and it lacks some more development within it's own plot Abduction is still a fun film to basically kill your free time and i did enjoy Lautner in the movie he isn't amazing but he isn't that awful either, the train scene is pretty cool and the late Michael Nyqvist alongside Alfred Molina do a pretty good job although their roles are limited their far bigger than Weaver's or Isaacs. (7/10)

Taylor Lautner, to start with, who is best known as Jacob in Twilight, offers a pleasantly surprising role that shows his depth of character (meaning, he's not acting when he plays this part; he's sharing himself as one who's experienced what his character portrays. The movie, itself, has a solid plot, and the Director should be commended for successfully capturing us as an audience and in the way he chose to capture us by relating. It had this subtle hold on me, and I found I just didn't want to even pause it for a moment. This is a rare surprise, 'cause it's been awhile since a movie was that good and riveting. Best of all? You get to watch a total hulk become a man, in a tender, moving storyline, while blending the thrill of watching "Men in Action". Great movie!
