Aunt/Mom who runs a diner...check. But it didn't work, and it shows.This apparently was Mariah Carey's directorial debut - and it shows. She was mostly in fuzzy head shots making me think she not on set and they shot all her individual TV moments on a separate day.Why Santa decides to be a janitor and call himself "Thomas" instead of the usual "Nick" is beyond me. The acting, dialog, pacing, and everything was just bad, not even cheesy, just bad. The only person I liked was the guy who plays the host in UnReal.

gehewe Lacey Chabert is fine in the lead but Brennan Elliot and the daughter make this film good. He plays a very likable character. It is worth watching. Placing Lacey Chabert with a daughter was helpful to her character and acting.The film is directed by Mariah Carey and she plays a small part in the film. She plays a character you will not like. I didn't notice any of her songs in the movie. The story line listed in IMDb was completely wrong- so I submitted a new one. It is about a widow reluctantly returning to her home town with her daughter and not wanting to leave. The one that was listed says "A gift of music transports people back to another time and place where they find their truest feelings." That is not this movie.Now I have seen all six of Lacey Chabert Christmas movies. This is probably the second best. A Wish for Christmas-2016 was the best.

bbwadmirer2007 My wife loved this movie,me not so much. Within the 1st 30 minutes I knew they would stay in Ohio and not go back to LA. I knew the mother would get romantically involved with the music teacher. I also knew that all things would end up happy and the movie would end. So many Christmas movies especially on Hallmark Channel end up this way. It would have been a better movie if I could not predict the ending almost from the beginning. Also Tom the janitor it was so obvious he was playing Santa Claus. It was just so syrupy sweet and not like real life. I'd like to see some conflict in the movie. Of course there was the PTA mother that was so negative but at the end that worked out as well when her daughter got the best costume.

In Silver Falls, Ohio, she meets a music teacher Danny Collier (Brennan Elliott), who had a crash on her, since they were a kids. Now, Danny is Emiliy's (Fina Strazza) teacher. It's a nice movie. Mariah Carey, as a director did a good job. I really love Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott, think that they were amazing. Fina Strazza is a surprise for me. At the end, nice movie, with very good actors.
