Kattiera Nana I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Aiden Melton The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
SnoopyStyle It's 1976. Frank Pesce Jr (Anthony LaPaglia) is announced the winner of the first New York State lottery worth $6.2 million. Instead of being happy, he angrily pelts the church with snowballs. He gets taken to the police station where he explains his story to Sgt. Tartaglia (Robert Forster). He has always been lucky. On the other hand, his father Frank Sr (Danny Aiello) is always unlucky. It's got a lot of the Italian stereotypes in a meandering boring story. It's suppose to be quirky fun but none of it makes me laugh. LaPaglia is more annoying than charming. The last half hour turns into something more interesting. It would help the movie to have a more compelling family instead of this standard bickering clan. I had a tough time feeling the love until the last bit.
Dragana I LOVED this film! It's fun, it's witty and clever. It has "a soul", not pretentious yet deep. As it goes on, you feel more and more connected to the characters and truly live the story with them. The fact that it contains some elements of fantasy, such as exceptionally good luck, doesn't rip the story of it's credibility, but gives it that festive, Christmassy feeling. And somewhat stereotypical idea of Italian family brought to an absurd at times just adds to fun and good humor, as I guess it was attempted (successfully). You can watch it from the adult or children's or even cynical point of view and still find something to connect to. I saw it for the first time a long time ago, and I watch it every now and then for years. I was surprised to find out that so few people have heard of it. When I think of it, I just can not remember anything I didn't like about it. It's one of my favorite movies.
radonjicsandra This is the movie I never miss every time when I can watch on TV!!!Anthony Lapaglia is great like lucky Frenk-this is his greatest role in acting. The main reason I love this movie is worm story about family. What amazing me the most is that the movie is based on true story. How can you not love that?!!I never met a person in mine life who didn't love this movie. When I ask somebody about his or hers favorite movie, this one is in their top 10 list!!!That is fantastic, don't you think?!My favorite part is the one when Frank dates wrong girl, end up in hospital for that and that came up like total luck because something is wrong with him so he need a surgery.Who never watched this movie will never know what was missed!!!WATCH it!!!!!!!!!!!!
filmnd Although not highly rated by critics, this film has a great story with both poignant and funny moments. An excellent cast, I would recommend it to anyone. If you're an East coast born and bred Italian American, you'll especially love the ethnic comedy that many of us have seen or lived through. Danny Aiellos' portrayal of the out-of luck father is one of his better performances in this "based on a true story" tale. It will finally be available on DVD in 2005, and is great to watch around the holidays since the main storyline occurs at Christmas. The tag line on the packaging is right on stating it's "Goodfellas meets It's A Wonderful Life." This movie proves that the critics aren't always right!!
